Customer story · Avinash Radjkoemar

“I know where we want to go.” Now he has a design expert beside him.

Avinash brings years of business strategy, storytelling, and taste. OpenDesign turns that founder knowledge into a polished, usable website for Hotel Palacio.

One real hotel became the proof

The hotel he knew by heart finally looked like itself online.

Hotel Palacio is a 22-room boutique hotel in Paramaribo’s historic centre. Avinash brought its real brand, rooms, and operating needs into his OpenDesign workflow. OpenDesign shaped the visual direction and structure; he continued the build in Codex and deployed it in his own environment.

The judgment had to come from him

The first draft had to come from the person who knew the business.

Avinash is not trying to become a designer. He owns several real businesses in Paramaribo and spent years in IT, often translating between strategy and technology. He knows the customers, the operations, and what each brand should feel like.

That was exactly what made the work difficult to delegate. “When I have to explain taste, I never came across someone who understood what I had.” The context lived in his head; every handoff risked sanding away the judgment that made the business his.

So he needed a first version he could react to and direct himself. “I know it when I see it.” But speed was not permission to improvise carelessly: “I’m not a vibe coder. I want to do it strategically and structurally. I want to do it proper.”

Something can be beautiful, but in production it really has to work. It cannot break.

The business became the story

What he knew about the city became part of the stay.

Avinash did not only know the hotel. He knew the city around it: what guests ask, which experiences are worth their time, and how the front desk can turn a question into a day out. OpenDesign helped give that founder knowledge an editorial form — from Explore Suriname to individual tours, all in the same voice and visual world as the hotel.

“It’s not just a beautiful landing page — it has so much more.”

Beautiful had to become usable

Guests could see the room, the rate, and the next step.

The same visual direction carries into real decisions: four room types, who each one suits, visible rates, and a direct path to check dates. The result is not only a hotel mood. It is a polished website organized around what a guest needs next.

The handoff came second

He keeps the judgment. His team finishes the last 20%.

Once the direction finally says what Avinash means, he can delegate without starting the explanation again. His assistant can refine the UX and fine details; his operations manager can check how the site behaves against the realities of the hotel.

OpenDesign does not replace his judgment. It makes that judgment visible and transferable. “I’ve done 80%, and the 20% they’re free to do.”

The hotel is the first system, not the last

The next project should not start from zero.

Built

Hotel Palacio

A six-route staging site shaped around a real 22-room hotel, its guests, and its operations.

Testing

The campaigns

He has tested OpenDesign for a women’s health coaching campaign; next he wants a structured two-to-three-week funnel from social posts to consultation booking and tracking.

Next

The rest

A logistics company, a travelling doctor’s blog, and neighbouring businesses could enter the same brand-to-build workflow next.

The repeatable asset is not one website. It is the business context, brand rules, checks, and handoff that do not have to be explained again from zero.

The verdict
“It tells you the things you just don’t know — because you’re not a specialist.”
— Avinash Radjkoemar, business owner · “The difference is huge.”
